The Refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD is On Its Way

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive with a new refresh. The heavy-duty pickup truck will receive contemporary styling, upgrades to its powertrain, and an all-new Denali Ultimate trim. As of late, GMC has been quite busy with its lineup. The automaker has been focused on its electric vehicles like the GMC Hummer EV. However, this has not stopped the automaker from showing attention to its combustion engine lineup. Vehicles like the GMC Yukon and GMC Canyon have all received updates. Other vehicles continue to enter development. While prioritizing electric and gas vehicles is no easy feat, GMC has offered a highly capable and versatile lineup. With that said, we’ll take a look at the new 2024 GMC Sierra HD and see what consumers can expect.

2024 GMC Sierra HD Receives Production Date

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive with a new refresh that will add several updates and changes. One of these changes will affect the heavy-duty pickup truck’s exterior. The Sierra HD will feature an updated front fascia with a new bumper and grille. The pickup will also receive six new exterior colors. Inside, the 2024 Sierra HD will also see an upgraded interior cabin. Trims like the SLE and SLT will receive a modern touch-up, while other trims like the AT and Denali will get a more premium design.

Speaking of trims, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will receive a new Denali Ultimate trim. This trim will feature a Vader chrome exterior with 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels. It will also receive a unique Alpine Umber interior upholstery. As for the powertrain, the heavy-duty truck will feature a naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 engine that delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. There will also be the option for a 6.6L V8 turbodiesel Duramax engine that has received a power boost. The turbodiesel will now deliver 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 25 and 65, respectively. Both engines will pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission that replaces the previous 6-speed.

Production of the newly refreshed GMC Sierra HD has been confirmed for February 2023. Pricing has yet to be disclosed, but more details will arrive as production nears. So far, it’s looking like the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will offer greater capability and versatility than ever before. The heavy-duty truck will retain its impressive towing ability–the 3500 HD is rated up to 36,000 pounds– and continue to serve as a reliable pickup truck.
