2022 GMC Terrain Receives Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as Standard

An Overview

Consumers looking to buy their next compact SUV should turn their attention to the new 2022 GMC Terrain. The new Terrain offers simplicity and all the essentials in a family-friendly SUV platform that is practical for daily driving. Its 1.5 L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine provides good fuel economy numbers, and there is plenty of cargo space for carrying supplies and equipment for recreational activities. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are categorized as “in-car assistant systems” that give drivers access to certain features on their phones through the vehicle’s infotainment system or phone interface.        

Both systems can accomplish various tasks like display navigation, play music, and check text messages using voice commands. These systems offer drivers convenience and safety features like fewer distractions and temptations to glance over at the phone while driving. Drivers can have access to some of their favorite apps from their phones, access to their music playlists, and including the ability to make hands-free calls.

Ease of Connectivity

Buyers of the 2022 GMC Terrain will find it easy to operate the Terrain’s infotainment system. An in-dash navigation system, as well as a heads-up display, will come as standard on the Denali trim, but they will be optional on the SLT and AT4 trims.

The new Terrain receives an admirable refreshed look for the 2022 model year with a revised front grille and front bumper, new LED headlights, and taillights. Buyers will have the option to choose from 18 and 19-inch wheel designs and updated upholstery. Drivers that wish to have more off-road capability can opt for the AT4 trim as it replaces the SL trim. The 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine will be discontinued in favor of the more efficient turbocharged 1.5 L, and it will be the only engine choice.
