Certain Buick Models to See Limited Heated Seat Availability

GM will be reducing the availability of heated and ventilated seats for several 2022 model year Buick vehicles. These will include the Buick Enclave, Buick Encore GX, and Buick Envision. GM, like many other automakers, has been facing numerous issues regarding vehicle production due to the ongoing global chip shortage. Despite these issues, GM has still managed to provide style updates for several Buick models. GM has been successful in its updates and continues to ensure that consumers receive their vehicles fully equipped. The automaker has also been working on electric vehicles like the GMC Hummer EV. Restrictions on availability for certain features may affect certain vehicles, but this doesn’t mean GM has to cease all production. Electric vehicles have been making their way into many automakers’ lineups as the global climate crisis persists. GM has been no stranger with their focus. For now, they will be trying to remedy the affected Buick models. 

Buick Models Receive Limited Seat Availability 

GM will be limiting the availability of certain seat features on 2022 Buick models. These features will include heated seats, ventilated seats, and heated outboard rear seats. The Buick models affected will include the Buick Enclave, Buick Encore GX, and the Buick Envision. GM has been facing issues due to the global chip shortage. It has had to restrict the availability of certain features for much of its lineup including for Chevy and GMC vehicles. Changes to availability will take effect after November 22nd, 2021. It is expected that these effects will last until the end of 2022 but we will have to wait for more information to be certain.

The future availability of vehicle features for GM will depend on the microchip suppliers. GM will be working to alleviate the issues, but until then they will be offering credit for owners with affected vehicles. This credit will range between $150 and $500 depending on the features deleted. Owners affected may have to wait until 2022 to have their features re-installed, but for those not too bothered by a lack of heated seats, the Buick still proves a great choice.
