5 Reasons To Consider The 2023 GMC Canyon
The 2023 GMC Canyon is a highly capable and versatile truck with a lot to offer. GMC recently updated the Canyon giving it a brand-new redesign. The next-generation Canyon also received a new off-road AT4X trim that improves its capability. While the automaker has been focused on its electrification efforts working on new EVs like the GMC Yukon, combustion engine vehicles have not been left behind. Given the 2023 GMC Canyon’s new redesign, we’ll list 5 reasons why consumers should consider the mid-size pickup.
One of the first reasons to consider the 2023 GMC Canyon is its performance. The mid-size pickup truck arrives with a turbocharged 2.7L engine that delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and provides the Canyon with a total of 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. Owners can tow and haul as they please. They also have 9.6 inches of ground clearance and a 36.9-degree approach angle so they can rest assured that their truck will handle the toughest of terrain.
2) Off-Road Capability
Another reason to consider the Canyon is its off-road capability. The base Canyon fares well in off-road terrain but the all-new AT4X trim takes it up a notch. The AT4X trim utilizes the same turbocharged 2.7L inline-four engine but it receives increased ground clearance–10.7 inches– and a wider front and rear track width. The AT4X trim also rides on 33-inch mud-terrain tires and features Multimatic spool-valve dampers and locking front/rear differentials. The new Canyon AT4X also has skid plates and a larger transfer case shield to protect underneath the truck.
3) Exterior Design
Along with the new off-road trim, GMC gave the 2023 Canyon a new redesign. The mid-size pickup truck features a bolder and sleeker design. GMC has given the Canyon a wider track, a new front fascia grille, and C-shaped LED lighting headlamps. The truck also has corner step rear bumpers and new all-terrain tires.
4) Interior Design
Another part of the new redesign was the interior. The 2023 GMC Canyon features a reimagined cabin that is now driver-oriented. GMC has also designed the cabin with a more modern and high-tech aesthetic. Owners can opt for various trims like the Denali that will elevate the interior design. This trim offers a Jet Black interior with Teak accents. Owners will also enjoy new technology such as a new digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen.
5) Driver-Assist Features
The fifth reason to consider the 2023 Canyon is its driver-assist features. The mid-size pickup truck offers drivers towing features like the trailering app which helps them with towing and hauling. There are also features like a 10-camera view system which provides a view of the truck’s front and rear underbody. Finally, there are driver modes like terrain, overlanding, and Baja which help navigate off-road terrain. At an MSRP of 36,900 (plus destination fee), the 2023 GMC Canyon proves to be a highly capable and versatile truck.
